Amber Brewer / Children's Minister
I am a Texas girl through and through! I was blessed with loving parents, grandparents and church teachers that instilled the gospel in me at a young age. I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at the age of 7. As a young girl, I enjoyed shadowing my mom, who was also involved in children’s ministry. That is when I began to feel a calling to ministry myself!
In my teen years, I became overly confident in doing things my way. I chose to spend a period of time walking with the world rather than with Christ. I quickly fell to my knees in complete and utter brokenness and emptiness. I did the only thing I knew how to do, and once again, I completely surrendered my life to the Lord. God’s grace and love are more than I could ever deserve!
As an adult, I have passionately followed my calling to children’s ministry. I have served as an after school counselor, preteen leader, and children’s ministry director. I have also served in Zambia, Africa by training teachers and sharing the gospel with orphaned children.
My husband J.B. and I have been married since 2005. We have 3 children- Kate, J.T. and Gavin. I am a 2005 graduate of Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Psychology and Education.
My hope and prayer as the children’s minister at Buffalo Creek is that we would ultimately lead children to salvation and a relationship with Christ that is so deeply rooted, they do not waiver. Our goal is to inspire young children to be the future generation of witnesses in sharing their faith with others. We believe EVERY part of the Bible is truth, and God’s word is a blueprint for our lives. We want to love children and their families well.
